I cant be present at Dougie`s last journey for obvious reasons, because of the strange and uncertain world we live in currently.

Wine buff, at one time had a wine collection based on a pallet that understood good taste and value for money.
Vegetarian, always able to provide an interesting plate of food accompanied with excellent company and five star hospitality.
 
Not very British to shed a tear in public, but as I am of Latvian stock, we shed tears for those we love and care about.
So as I write these words I am feeling a great loss but grateful that in the end Dougie left us with dignity and I have been shedding a few tears.
