The funeral took place today, in the strangest of circumstances, limited to only five mourners and with no physical contact. Despite this fact, the service seemed all the more personal and intimate for that. Howard delivered a very warm and comprehensive tribute and Sue played the viola that Doug had made (of course !). When we emerged from the chapel, we stepped out into the sunlight and briefly enjoyed a turn round the grounds of Hutcliffe Wood, which was at its best this time of year, full of daffodils and narcissus. The moment seemed very vivid. A fitting tribute indeed ! Cath x
